Oversee.net runs online advertising, revenue generating programs for web
publishers, one of which is used by some domain name owners. We support
only legitimate domain name activity. We do not tolerate nor condone
anything which violates international law.
If you have seen our name come up, it is because some domain name owners
have chosen to user our programs to help make money. If a domain name
owner uses our program on a domain that violates copyright law, then
that action violates our terms and conditions and is grounds for
dismissal from the program.
Domain name grabbing and cyber-squatting are two very different things.
Domain name grabbing is not in and of itself illegal if the name was
registered legitimately during a period of open registration. In that
case, it is very similar to the real estate market. It's competitive and
location, in this case, the name and the amount of traffic it gets,
matter most. If someone grabs a domain name that is copyright protected,
then it is illegal and our terms and conditions don't allow that.
Additionally, in cases such as yours where there was obvious intent to
continue on with the name we sympathize and did everything possible to
assist, without profit or need.
The most important point is that if you see our program associated with
a domain name that violates law, please know that it does not mean we
registered the name nor does it mean that we approve. The shear volume
of names makes it impossible for us to police each name and know whether
that name is legal or not. Such responsibility lies on the publisher
(the registrant) and if they want to remain in our program, they will
follow the terms and conditions and act legally.
