Horse riding
at Uncle Pasha's dacha

P
icturesque rolling hills over the Volga river
near the ancient city of Staritsa (est. 1297)
between Moscow  & st. Petersburg

Riding lessons available
Ample opportunities of language practice with my Russian guests and neighbours.

Hands-on participation welcomed.

"I'm here to be entertained" attitude
is not.

$30/person/day
includes
accommodation, whatever food you find in the kitchen, and unlimited unescorted trail riding. Warning: almost totally self-catering. You fetch the animals from the pasture. You brush and saddle them. You convince these sneaky old village hags to cooperate.

A better, saner alternative:
$60/person/day contribution to keeping this place afloat gets you VIP service: Prepared meals, riding lessons, meeting at the bus station in Staritsa etc. And the owner/operator of this establishment, normally a grouch and a recluse, will make an effort to be friendly.

Staritsa, Tver, and other towns between Moscow and St. Petersburg is one of my pet projects. I welcome inquiries and am willing to spend more time finding finding information or sharing advice than in the case of let's say inquiries related to Moscow, which has already been documented to death...
