stylistically this is a draft but all you see here is valid

A quick succession of quality inquiries and a couple of pleasant and promising meetings with Indians prompted me to write this page...

BTW, I must thank you for having the information for Indian nationals on your website. If I hadn't read about Salvia Travels, I would never have had the Russian visa with me today!

Thank you all for your recent inquiries.

The growth of interest in our country from Indian travellers and businessmen pleases us greatly. At the same time we understand that Russia presents special challenged to people of Indian culture and heritage. These include availability of vegetarian food, communication style, the way of doing business, and even appearance.

Being vegetarians ourselves, we are in a good position to make sure you eat well. Some information, in English, on the vegetarian options in Moscow can be fount in ../vegetarian_russia.htm and www.vegrussia.org that I was administering in 2000-2001. A list of Indian restaurants, with a special emphasis on those in the under $15 per person bracket, is on its way.

We understand that, as a group, Indians insist on price and especially value for money. Accordingly, we'll be suggesting our best bang for the buck options for our business services. For example, while my day of interpreting normally costs $200-250, I would be willing to "sell" myself for considerably less as long as I don't have any better-paying or urgent assignments. Olesya is available as an all-around guide and assistant for $50/day, which is a great value, especially if you are in Moscow for the first time.

The same applies to our traveller support services that include help finding accommodation.

Fast-paced business environment generates a communication and business style that clashes with leisurely eastern ways of life. We are aware of this potential mismatch and, as assistants and interpreters, will try to help things go smoother.

Hardships that the recent changes brought to many Russians have resulted in sime unfriendly or even hostile feelings toward foreigners. People from the East, which includes Indians, are particularly prone to be perceived as a threat. Fortunately, these sentiments are confined to certain circles and certain regions. We will council you on how to aviod these.

Watch this page for additional information of interest specifically to to Indian travellers.

Questions, concerns and inquiries are welcomed. Please either post your question on our BBS or write me to paul_voytinsky@yahoo.com

Hope to welcome you in Moscow soon.

Sincerely,

Paul V. Voytinsky ("Uncle Pasha")

Please note that you don't need an invitation for transit visas up to 70-something hours. I'm looking for a reliable partner to issue official invitations to Indian nationals.

One small request. I value the Indian culture for its many achievements, from great food to the doctrines of karma and ahimsa. But in business you guys are terrible. Please, if you reserve a place to stay with me, or an airport pickup, do show up, or call and cancel. If corresponding with me state your needs clearly, and read my responses. Don't try to have three people to arrange one project, or else we'll run into misunderstandings.

While I am in no position to give discounts that make a difference, I encourage you to state your budget. I will see what corners we can cut while still getting the job done.
