Floor space - $10/person/night. MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND THAT ANYTHING UNDER $30/NIGHT IS SUB-STANDARD BY DEFINITION
Private room - $15/person, $30/couple. Make her an offer, $25 seems about right for the location.
Whole apartment - $30-50/night, sleeps 3-4 comfortably. Again, she may ask for $50 but that's a bit above what it should be. Offer her $40 or so per night, especially if you are staying for a few days.
All the basics, like running water, including hot water most of the time, heat, shower, toilet, gas stove, pots, pans, and plates etc., microwave, and telephone are available. No privacy for "floor space" guests but they do get an air mattress and bedding so you don't need to haul your camping gear with you. Been in one of her two apartments myself, stayed there for one night, and found it to be quite worth the price. I've also taken a good look around the neighbourhood and found it bearable. This is not your Tverskaya or Arbat or even Pyatnitskaya but the neighbourhood is well-lit nothing out-of-ordinary was noticed. In fact, I would recommend staying there to anyone who wants "typical" Moscow where your average Muscovite lives.
Her son will meet you at the metro station or even at the train station or airport. Or she can arrange for a driver to meet you. Help with tickets, visa registration and other small things no problem.
