I'm staying here in person till Nov. 19 or 20, and using this short relief from my dacha exile to see just how the apartment feels to the traveller.One of the first finding is that many of the essential little office thingies are not there. Fixed. Acquired an old-fashioned mechanical alarm clock for those who, like me, are fundamentally uncapable of using multi-functional electronic devices and are annoyed by the sound of electrons flowing though microcircuits. I'm disputing within myself if a microwave oven is really needed. Personally I'm in favour of minimalist in the kitchen. I welcome, however, your opinion on the subject of buying a zipbox. Thought of getting a coffee grinder of the manual type. The sort that does not smell of plastic and burning wiring. But was told by the coffee shop keeper that they are intended more as a decoration than a kitchen item. Does anybody know where I can get a practical functioning manual coffee grinder? Speaking of coffee, today's exploration of the neighbourhood yielded a source of fresh (not roasted) coffee beans! First time I see these in Russia. Next in the plans is installation of dictionaries and machine translation systems onto the guest computer...
