This is the same building as the famous Ukraine hotel.

First the big picture. The apartment is in this skyscraper. Windows are looking onto the Moscow river.

Since the landlord is expected to kick 10% of your rent money my way for site maintenance and promotion, I will hold my mouth shut about the vaults and corridors, ghosts and other eerie things that haunt this Stalin-era building.

Instead, I will emphasize the positives: the location, the place's huge size, its old Moscow luxury combined with a full set of modern gadget, and a great host family.

You will be within walking distance to the Arbat, the World Trade Center (on the right), the US embassy, the Chinese supermarket that sells the freshest to-fu in Moscow, etc. etc. etc. Just doesn't get any better than that, with possible exception of my so-called Dutch Lot in Zamoskvorechye.

Alexander will be happy to meet you at the airport, act as your guide, and assist you any way he can.

He also understands that what it is like to be a weary traveler at the end of a journey, and will NOT insist on your visiting sites and attractions if you are not up to it. Unlike me with my numerous wives, kids, babysitters, large animals, etc. etc. to feed, making money is not his main motivation, and he will not try inflict on you any of the unnecessary services.
