Now we are on top of the Big Kamenny ("Stone") bridge. Looking
west we see probably one of the creations of Moscow's official public sculptor Tsaritelli.
Peter-the-Great stands in front of the Moscow House of Artist (on the left) which you may visit for a sense of modern Russian art scene. |

Another shot to keep you oriented. The House on the Embankment is on the left, and we are looking west from the Bolshoi Kamenny bridge. The Kremlin is behind us and a bit to the right. |

Christ-the-Savious seen from the Kamenny bridge. The No. 1 library is on our right, the House on the Embankment on our left, and the Kremlin is behind us. |

Compare the gold on the domes of Ivan-the-Great bellfry below and the dome of this newly constructed Christ-the-Savior. A taxi driver pointed this out to me some time ago. "It was not built in the right spirit", he explained, "and gold turns dark when the spirit is impure". |

Ivan-the-Great bellfry build aroun 1610 as a make-work project to stimulate the economy decimated by the Times of Troubles. |

Far side of the bridge. We are over the Sofia Embankment where we started. |
