I'm moving
to a new WordPress
platform. All the best from old sites - the most active and popular
pages, promising projects - are being rid off old clutter and
transplanted to
www.unclepasha.com/wordpress/. The new site will be clear and to the
point, navigable, and interactive, with visitors able to leave comments
or even add new pages. For the time being there will be a bit of a mess
though and I'm once again asking for your patience. If in doubt just
write to
me. The
board is a public record of what I've been doing for the last few
years so I'll probably keep it even if it turns out
WordPress has a
similar function.

Unlike in the times past when I did in in a half-assed way, this present
upgrade is being supported, which enables me to take one full day to
check old links and to see what' s new. As before, the focus is on
worthy hard-to-find resources. And the sponsor is

I'm entering a marriage of convenience as the first step of adopting my
good friend's son which, in turn, may help him in avoiding being drafted
into the Russian army. Being married has a few other benefits, e.g.
being able to visit each other in prison, or at least to pass food
parcels. Unthinkable 10 years ago but sort of in the air now. A wedding
- a wedding of convenience - will be held Saturday, December 24,
possibly in combination with a meeting to vainly protest the recent
election fraud. This meetings, with expected attendance of 50 thousand,
is to be held on Prospekt Sakharova, Metro Komsomolskaya. My guide,
translator or whatever services to cover the event are available free of
charge, as my humble contribution to I'm not sure what..

Why are my compatriots that way! I succumbed to the temptation to make a
few bucks. Rented my place to an ex-Russian from New York. A complaint
from neighbours, lost keys, broken mirror, good wireless keyboard
disappeared, and to top things off SHIT ON THE CHAIR. I'm afraid this is
no isolated incident, and becoming a racist in relation to my own nation
is unavoidable. Actually, the worse offenders have been ex-Russians
coming here for holidays. And I was one of them except I got stuck here.
Does someone know of a good euthanasiologist?

I'm back from Kandalaksha (Kola Peninsula, Murmansk Region, White
Sea..). An interesting place. Worth being considered as an alternative
to progressively unbearable Moscow. Alexandra is doing
a page on Kandalaksha
Nature Reserve, and I'm providing an English summary on the reserve, the
City of Kandalaksha, and the surrounding area. Getting there, where
to stay, what to do.. Same concept as in

get an upgrade as a side-effect of the Kandalaksha project..

Rental in Moscow. A decision is made to acquire a scooter to be available to
my guests in the 2010 season. To avoid liability and other issues it probably
will not be "rental" but rather something complimentary. You will however be
expected to take full responsibility for the vehicle (replacement cost over
$1000) and make a contribution to its upkeep.
