Pryamukhino, near Torzhok, on the way from Moscow to St. Petersburg, no
more than two hours from my (ex) dacha near Staritsa. A country estate
of Bakunin, one of 19th century anarchist leaders and theorizers. A
group of modern-day anarchists keeps the estate alive. Cultural events
(readings, performances) are regularly conducted there, books published.
Pryamukhino is on my list of places to visit soon, possibly in spring of
2012, in company of Vovchik of Ryazan, our in-house historian.
