You've probably come here in search of
an inexpensive room for rent
in the outrageously expensive Moscow
I've moved all the accommodation information in my possession to www.cheap-moscow.com Or go directly to the Rooms, B&B, and Homestay page and look for your $25/night dream there.
At the moment (April 9, 2007) the best room offers are from
- Tina ($30, new to business, available and friendly unlike those of use who've been dealing with people for years),
- Anastasia ($30-50, across the Moskva river from the Lenin Library, no further comment required),
- perhaps Dimitry and him mom for those looking for extreme cheapness ($15?) in a 10/10 neighbourhood..
- You may also want to contact Olesya , who has a good knowledge of the accommodation scene and in an a position to help you with the whole array of traveller support services, starting with general advice, visa support etc.
- Another excellent deal is Alexander & family in the same building as the Ukraine Hotel. $50/couple.
- Natalia has two rooms, one in Moscow for $30-35 and one in Solnechnogorsk ("Sun City") for $20-25). Highly recommended as representative of old-fashioned Russian hospitality.
- Anya Belozan from near M. Elektrozavodskaya is another good choice.
Still, I recommend you see the full list which is more complete and is updated with some regularity.
PS. I'm now trying to document cheap or otherwise worthy offers from St. Petersburg. See the St. Petersburg page of my www.cheap-moscow.com or the upcoming cheap-peters.com As in Moscow, real bug-free offers start at $25-30 per person and $30-50 per couple. My "recommeded" choice for B&B in St. Petersburg is Masha & Tamara. If you are looking for an apartment, try Marina & Andreas first. Budget permitting, ask about their Millionnaya apartment near The Hermitage.
