RE: HELEN XXXXXX'S IMMIGRATION APPLICATION

To whom it may concern:

We, Alex and Veta XXXXXX of ................... Vancouver, are pleased that Helen XXXXXX has filed her immigration application and hereby express our full support and readiness to assist her.

We have known Helen since 199 1, when she helped us in preparing financial reports. For a period of time in 1993 or 1994, she worked for our company in the capacity of chief accountant. Then she returned to geological work but remained a close friend of our family.

Should Helen make Vancouver her destination (probably a good choice in view of her profession), we can help her in any of the following ways:

• airport pick up
• orientation tour
• initial paperwork
• room with our family for any length of time (we have a spare room in
• our condominium apartment)
• the use of our automobile (we have two in the family, one of which is
• rarely used)
• advice and assistance in selecting quality English and/or French
• courses
• advice in enrolling into professional development courses
• job search advice and assistance

A few words about us. We are former Russian nationals who came to Canada in 1997. Alex is a computer professional, and Veta is a translator/interpreter. Presently we are all students. Alex is studying CAD (computer-aided design), while Veta and our daughter Kate are taking business courses. Although we are not presently working full-time, we are financially self-sufficient because of our savings, and expect to be employed shortly after the end of our studies.

We'lI assist Helen physically as mentioned above (accommodation, transportation etc.), informationally by sharing our recent immigration experience, as well as emotionally. Our daughter Kate is of the same age as Helen's daughter Alla, which will make Alla's adjustment to new life faster and easier.

We expect that Helen's personal and professional qualities will make her relocation easy, and the adjustment period short. We are fully supportive of her plans, and look forward to welcoming her to Canada.
